 Nice upgrade to the Sanus Turntables February 6, 2010

When I ordered new audio-visual equipment, I found I quickly ran out of room for my cable box to fit in my A/V cabinet. For years I'd had a Sanus Accurate View turntable underneath my TV and loved it but needed something to lift the TV up so I could put the cable box or DVD player underneath. I had expected to have to purchase a whole new shelf unit to put under the TV but while searching Amazon, I found this Sanus VCR/DVD shelf unit which was constructed to connect to the Sanus Accurate View turntables. I did some research to determine the one that would fit my turntable and ordered it. This was just what the doctor ordered. All pre-drilled holes matched up exactly with corresponding holes in the turntable so that the two pieces could be attached by screws. Construction is sturdy and tight. Together they make an attractive unit, my cable box fit perfectly under the shelf, and my LCD TV base was almost an exact fit with the top of the shelf. Best of all I was able to keep my Sanus turntable. If you have the Sanus turntable, be sure to measure to get the correct size.

This shelf is very well made & very easy to assemble.I would highly recommend it.

The shelf is very helpful. I attached the 27"Sanus shelf to the 27' swivel with a screwdriver, took about 15 minutes. I set the dvd player/analog transformer under the tv. It all swivels at once, easy to point the remote to the front of the devices. All black, looks nice.

I have a 32" HDTV and therefore got the 32" turntable. I also bought the separatedly-sold vcr shelf that goes under the turntable. I should have gotten a much smaller turntable because my 32" is on a stand so its footprint is actually much smaller than 32". Now I have to return it and get the 20", which is the smallest turntable that the vcr shelf will fit with. Also, the side pieces on the vcr shelf are wobbly. I tightened it as much as I could.

Side support panel split when we attached it to the base with the screws supplied by the manufacturer. Contacted supplier, who sent another one. It split too. We decided to keep it anyway as this was the only vhs/dvd shelf we could find. Hope it doesn't fail...
