Settling In With Vizio VF551XVT – A Daugther’s Mail To Mum

Dearest Mum,
I have finally shifted last Saturday. I have done up some bit of the apartment and it looks pretty cool. Thank you for all the potted plants you have given me. Guess what? I have finally bought the Vizio VF551XVT. It was delivered five days ago and since then, the remote has not been out of my hands. I have been saving up for this for some time now. Not that it needed much saving, for I have gone through many LCD brochures and the price of the Vizio VF551XVT is undoubtedly unbeatable. But you know how things are, with the furniture to buy, the apartment to do up, and me planning a trip to Europe next summer.

I have set up the Vizio VF551XVT in my bedroom. It is a 55-inch LCD HDTV with fantastic features. It has LED backlighting instead of fluorescent lights. This is for the TV to do something known as “local dimming.” Based on what you are watching, the display will dim certain parts of the screen. This stops light from leaking and you actually get 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio for dark and rich images. Oh Mum, I just can’t wait to show this off to my friends, when they come for my house warming party next month.

There are so many features in the Vizio VF551XVT that simply blew me away. The full 1080p high definition resolution gives crystal clear pictures while the 240Hz Smooth Motion reduces blurring and makes transitions fluid. The colors are rich too; our Disneyland videos showed up really well on the screen. The audio is clear and crisp, without being booming and this is thanks to the SRS audio technology that the TV uses.

The picture-in-picture option is another feature that really got me interested in the Vizio VF551XVT 55” LCD LED HDTV. As I was hunting for a LCD, I was really surprised to find many HDTVs did not have this feature. In addition there are also nine fully adjustable picture modes in the TV. I’m sure Dad will love the Basketball, Football, and the Golf modes.

The remote is large. The chrome-colored cursor pad is huge and is surrounded by well-spaced yellow backlit keys that are also easily differentiated. It’s excellent for people like us with short and stubby fingers. The TV has got very good connectivity; there are five HDMI inputs. Four are on the back panel and one is on the side. There’s also an USB input on one side for videos, music, and photos on the HDTV. And I just love the fact that it makes a superb giant-screen PC monitor. I had it connected with both HDMI and VGA and it displayed the full resolution of 1920×1080.

The TV really looks good on my bedroom wall. It has a non-detachable speaker bar located at the bottom. It is silver in colour, has a reflective surface, and a see-through panel that shows up my beige wall behind. It weighs just about 90 pounds.

I am positive Dad will complain that there’s no power-saving mode in the Vizio VF551XVT. But the LED technology and the aggressive backlight variation really makes it one of the most energy-efficient HDTVs around.

I simply can’t have enough of the Vizio VF551XVT. Mum, why don’t you and Dad drop by my place during Thanksgiving this time? We could emjoy some classics together and you can see for yourself how good the Vizio VF551XVT is.

Love,
Linda
